South Dakota Beef Industry Council Annual Meeting Slated For September 15, 2018 in Brookings.
PIERRE, SD - The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) board of directors and staff invite the public to attend the annual meeting on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Woster Celebration Hall - South Dakota State University Alumni Center, Brookings, SD. SDBIC directors will hear reports from the executive, nominating, research, promotion and budget committees, receive program report updates, as well as pass the budget for fiscal year 2019. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Anyone tailgating before the football game is encouraged to participate in the Beef Bowl Tailgate beef cooking competition. The winner will receive $250 in beef bucks. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Additional information will be available on SDBIC social media sites. The Federation of State Beef Councils represents the 43 Qualified State Beef Councils. Collectively, the QSBCs include more than 700 state board members and these board members represent a wide range of industry organizations and every segment of the beef industry. The Federation is a division of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), which is a contractor to the Beef Checkoff Program. The program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, with oversight provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
