"Move Into May" Campaign Challenges Consumers to be Beef Balanced

PIERRE - Shake off the winter blues with the South Dakota Beef Industry Council's (SDBIC) "Move into May" campaign.

This fun incentive program is designed to encourage the whole family to lead a healthier lifestyle with beef.  What does this all mean?  Increasing simple everyday activities, coupled with healthy foods, such as lean beef, is the foundation to a healthy lifestyle. Participants simply share a photo of themselves, a friend, or a family member being physically active - anything from lifting hay bales, running on the treadmill, or even walking the dog.  Post anytime throughout each week of the campaign, #MooovingMonday, and get entered into a weekly drawing as part of the challenge that launched on April 2nd.
In addition to the "Mooving Monday" challenge, we are also encouraging followers to show off their cooking and grilling skills with beef through the "Sizzling Saturday" campaign which kicks-off April 21st.   Share your best beef picture(s), cooking tips, or healthy beef recipes - anything that makes a Saturday sizzle! Both campaigns will continue through May 21, 2018.

Each person who makes a #MooovingMonday or #SizzlingSaturday photo post via Facebook or Instagram is entered in a weekly $25 beef certificate drawing on the following Monday. The campaign will culminate with a final drawing of ALL participants on May 21st when the SDBIC will award $250 in beef certificates alongside beef swag - just in time for Memorial Day.

"Campaigns like this are a great way to kickoff grilling season," states Suzy Geppert, SDBIC executive director. "They allow us to engage with our consumers and provide them opportunity in which they can purchase our product. Showcasing beef's nutritional value and role in leading a healthy lifestyle increases the demand for beef as consumers are inspired to make those healthy grilling choices."
