Whitehill Named as Director of Communications

PIERRE, SD – The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) is pleased to announce Kylee Whitehill as the new Director of Communications.

Kylee grew up on a cattle ranch in north central Nebraska. Alongside her parents, they raised commercial cattle and Quarter Horses. Kylee attended South Dakota State University, where she participated in Little International and was part of the agriculture scene as a Broadcast Journalism major. During the summer of 2015, she interned at the extension office in her home county and in 2016, interned as a producer for RFD-TV in Nashville, TN. Kylee wrote articles for The Collegian and worked as a reporter for SDPB's medical show On Call with the Prairie Doc.

Before coming to Pierre as a reporter for The Capital Journal, she graduated in December 2016 with a BA in Journalism and minors in English and Equine Science. In her new role, Whitehill will manage all internal and external communications and act as Public Information Officer.

“We are so excited to have Kylee join our team,” said Suzy Geppert, Executive Director, SDBIC. “She comes to us with fresh, new ideas and understands the challenges producers face. She is also very tuned-in to our younger generation and how they communicate.”
