The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) will place beef center stage at multiple events at the 2022 Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Rapid City. This year’s stock show will take place January 28 - February 5, 2022 in Rapid City, South Dakota. SDBIC employees, SDBIC Board of Directors and Junior Beef Ambassadors will showcase BEEF to thousands of people throughout the region.
The new Beef and Bronc Experience, located in the Rodeo Zone, will provide attendees the opportunity to learn the beef story from pasture to plate including the chance to attend the Beef, Broncs and Beer event at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Join SD Beef, Lost Cabin Beer Co., and Team Beef SD Chef, Justin Warner in a beef and beer pairing demonstration you won’t want to miss! The Beefy Chili Cookoff takes place on Sunday, January 30, 2022 and will highlight local talent from across South Dakota as they bring their best chili forward in this 28-year contest. You will also see the Jr. Beef Ambassadors, staff, and ranchers from across the state engaging in many live interviews and events including Rodeo Rapid City!
Beef will continue its partnership with Rodeo Rapid City with each performance providing opportunities for attendees to win Beef Bucks! You can also sign up at the booth to win Beef Bucks/Beef Certificates and have Amanda Radke sign the all new “Beef Strong” children’s story. This is a new educational resource found within the Build Your Base Sports Nutrition and training program written in partnership with Sanford Health. The Federation of State Beef Councils represents the 43 Qualified State Beef Councils. Collectively, the QSBCs include more than 700 state board members and these board members represent a wide range of industry organizations and every segment of the beef industry. The Federation is a division of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), which is a contractor to the Beef Checkoff Program. The program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, with oversight provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
