PIERRE, SD - Directors and staff of the South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) will gather at Drifter's Conference Center in Ft. Pierre, SD on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 for the organization's quarterly board meeting. This meeting provides a valuable opportunity for beef producers to network with their peers in understanding the checkoff. All beef producers are invited to attend. Committee meetings will begin at 9:00 A.M. with the board meeting to follow at 11:00 A.M.
An update on the Build Your Base with Beef program will be given as well as an update on the state-to-state initiative. Staff will report on recent events and activities and U.S. Meat Export Federation directors will also give an update.

The Federation of State Beef Councils represents the 43 Qualified State Beef Councils. Collectively, the QSBCs include more than 700 state board members and these board members represent a wide range of industry organizations and every segment of the beef industry. The Federation is a division of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), which is a contractor to the Beef Checkoff Program. The program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, with oversight provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
