PIERRE, SD:The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) is pleased to welcome Shannon Schweitzer to the SDBIC team as the new office manager!
Schweitzer comes to the beef council from Fort Pierre, SD where she lives with her husband Scott and 2 sons Barret (13) and Ian (9) and daughter Ahleise (6). She grew up on a farm in rural Wessington Springs and attended South Dakota StateUniversity where she received her Master's in Human Development and Family Studies. Schweitzer has served in multiple management roles both in State Government and non-profit sectors.
Schweitzer joined the SDBIC team on May 13, 2019 as a part-time position. .

The Federation of State Beef Councils represents the 43 Qualified State Beef Councils. Collectively, the QSBCs include more than 700 state board members and these board members represent a wide range of industry organizations and every segment of the beef industry. The Federation is a division of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), which is a contractor to the Beef Checkoff Program. The program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, with oversight provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
